Dr. Andy Mueller

Andy grew up in a few small towns in central and northern Illinois while spending summers on his grandparent grain and cow calf farm outside of Quincy, Illinois. He got his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture-Animal Science from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO and his masters and doctorate in ruminant nutrition from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Following graduation, he has spent the last 15 years with Purina Animal Nutrition as the Manager of Dairy Nutrition and Technical Support in Minnesota, Northeast Iowa, and eastern North and South Dakota. His responsibilities with Purina included being the lead nutritionist on farm as well as supporting other Purina nutritionists with the nutrition on their farms, training new dairy nutritionist, organizing and speaking at training meetings, as well as being involved in new product development and supporting their ration balancing software.

In his free time Andy is involved in dog agility having competed across the USA, Canada and Europe representing the USA at 11 world agility events and has been a coach for Team USA the last three years. He also enjoys jogging, hiking the dogs, gardening, cooking and traveling when time allows. He resides in Rochester, Minnesota with his girlfriend, Sara, and their 4 dogs.
